Jaya, Memories... 25 Years

November 10, 2014. The Soul Diva, celebrated her 25 years in the entertainment industry by treating her fans, family and friends to a night of music and reminiscing at the Solaire Grand Ballroom.

Dubbed as Jaya, Memories...25 years, the concert was truly an experience worth remembering as the Soul Diva has once again proven her singing and dancing prowess.

The Concert opened with Jaya singing and dancing to an upbeat music. I honestly really didn't know that she can dance too! :) After that intense singing and dancing number, I just can't help myself smiling when she said "Hirap talagang kumita ng pera ..." But when she revealed her age by saying "44 and no repair!", I could no longer hold my laughter! She really got some humor too! :D

Jaya then sang an Anita Baker medley to give credit to this amazing singer who have been one of her great influencer. She then followed it with an OPM Medley where she was joined by Jonalyn Viray and Faith Cuneta. They sang the masterpieces of two great compositors - Ryan Cayabyab and George Canseco. And after belting out the songs Sana Maulit Muli and Through The Fire, Jaya then introduces her "anak", Kayla and they both sang the Separado theme song. Kayla then took the center stage while the Soul Diva went backstage to have an outfit change.

The second half of the concert proved to be more intense as she was already joined by her noontime show barkada - Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs, and Regine Velasquez. They all really hit it big time as they tried to relive their Back2Back2Back  portion in their previous noon time show. They were really fun to watch. 

And when she finally started singing Whitney Houston's songs, the crowd just became ecstatic and I'm no exception as I'm likewise a great fan of Whitney. She then mellowed down a little, and somehow got a little emotional when she sang a song dedicated for her family, especially her children.

And of course, that event won't be complete without her singing her own hits. She sang Wala Na Bang Pag-Ibig, Laging Naroon Ka, and a few more of her hits, and the crowd just can't help but sing with her. Her connection with the audiences was pretty amazing!

I really enjoyed the night. I likewise felt that I was able to connect with Jaya more as she told her story through all the songs she sang. And somehow, I can't help myself adoring this woman even more after learning what she had been through just recently. I really admire her faith and her dedication to push through with this event despite everything. She's truly a great performer and a professional as well. Just as what the saying goes, "The Show Must Go On!"
