Tornado Peri Peri Chicken

Have you tried Peri-Peri Chicken already? If your answer is yes, then you would agree with me if I say that it is really delicious! (Well, maybe, that is, if we have the same food establishment in mind!) :D But if you haven't tried it yet, then, maybe it is time that you do. And I would highly recommend Tornado Peri-Peri Chicken!

But what really is a Peri-Peri Chicken?

Peri-Peri or Piri piri is the Swahili word for 'pepper pepper.

Peri Peri sauce is Portuguese in origin and "especially prevalent in Angola, Namibia, Mozambique and South Africa". It is used as a seasoning or as a marinade and is made from crushed chillies also known as the bird's eye chili. So let's thank the Portuguese for introducing the  peri peri sauce to us, which paved way to the introduction of Peri Peri Chicken!

Tornado Peri Peri Chicken E. Rodriguez Branch

And just last month, I was able to taste my first Peri Peri Chicken at Tornado Peri-Peri Chicken. I have been hearing a handful of positive feedbacks about Tornado that is why I was really excited to really try their chicken.

My First Peri Peri Chicken!

I visited Tornado's recently opened branch located at 1680 E.Rodriguez Sr. Avenue cor Los Angeles St. Cubao, Quezon CityIt is actually the 2nd branch of Tornado Peri-Peri Chicken, as a result of the success of their first branch located in Maginhawa St, Quezon City. The location is actually very far from my place of work and residence, but I must say, the long travel was really worth it! Tornado's Peri Peri Chicken is really delicious!

Tornado Peri-Peri Chicken is owned by Kapuso celebrity Arianne Bautista and Chef Tim Ang - the one responsible for the delicious sauce! Actually, Tornado's Peri-Peri Chicken offers three kinds of sauces - Original, Tiger's Fury & Dragon's Breath.

Not much on the spicy side? Then, the Original sauce is for you. But if you are in for some spice, then go ahead and try Tiger's Fury. But as for someone like me who really enjoys spicy foods, the Dragon's Breath sauce is for us! I even had two ramekin servings of the sauce. So, I guess, it's not really that spicy hot after all! :D

All the sauces really compliment the chicken, so it doesn't really matter much what you choose. But let me just warn you as there is not much difference with the color of the sauces, so be sure to ask ( though, it wouldn't really hurt much if you let your taste bud to experience a little hot surprise!) :D

Here are photos of what you can expect with their every serving of their Peri Peri Chicken, Tornado's specialty! Each serving includes a quarter of a chicken, a cup of rice, your choice of a side dish, and of course, your preferred sauce.

Chicken Peri Peri cooked into perfection...

Each serving only costs P 120.00. No drinks included. Extra sauce costs P15.00. Definitely sulit, right?!

But of course, Tornado Chicken Peri Peri's menu is not limited to Peri Peri Chicken alone. They likewise offer a selection of pasta dishes, burgers, baby back ribs, assorted desserts, and a lot more.

I was able to try their Spaghetti, and I must say that this dish can a lot more be appreciated by children as it is more on the sweet side. So go ahead and tag along your kiddos and let them try this dish.

I really enjoyed my Peri Peri Chicken. My tummy was more than happy and satisfied. But my curiosity has yet to be satisfied so I finally asked the story behind the name of this establishment. Why Tornado? And Ms. Arianne was more than glad to share the reason behind. According to Ms. Arianne, a perfectly delicious Peri Peri Chicken must undergo three important procedures - marination, roasting and grilling. And all these procedures would really take up some time. But, at Tornado Peri Peri Chicken, they can serve this dish in a snap, as fast as a tornado, but without sacrificing the quality of its taste. Curiosity satisfied. :D

The Tornado Ceiling... It sure is fun!

The Inside of the Resto...

Tornado Peri Peri Chicken's E. Rodriguez branch opened its door only last September 8, 2014. It is larger than the Maginhawa branch. It can accommodate 60 customers. And for more than three months now, it has been serving happy customers within the vicinity. So if you happen to be along the area, do not hesitate to drop by at their place and try their Peri Peri Chicken. I'm quite sure you're going to love all their food on their menu, most especially, their Peri Peri Chicken!

And for a bonus, wouldn't you be delighted if this pretty lad would be the one taking your order?! I am quite sure you will. :)
